Hagerstown Elementary is unique in its ability to provide an affordable and high-quality preschool option for students in our area.

We follow a research-based curriculum that includes hands-on opportunities to learn through play with a focus on development and social skills.

About the program

The preschool is offered to students who are three and four years of age.

Tuition includes both 15 hours of preschool instruction per week, as well as optional daycare between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The cost of tuition for the 2024-25 academic year is $100/week per student.

Our AM preschool classes meet from 8:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Our PM preschool classes meet from 12:00 p.m. to 2:40 p.m.

Each class is limited to 15 students.

Discovery Preschool is proud to be an On My Way Pre-K School. This program is administered through the Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning under the direction of the Family and Social Services Administration.

Scholarships and vouchers are available for families. Your child may qualify for a FREE, high-quality pre-kindergarten at Discovery Preschool.

Summer Daycare

Nettle Creek Summer Daycare is a daycare program offered to 4 year old preschool students who are enrolled in the 2024-2025 Nettle Creek Discovery Preschool or were enrolled in the 2023-2024 Nettle Creek Discovery Preschool.

The summer daycare program will provide the Nettle Creek Discovery Preschool families with continued quality care throughout the summer. All-day care will be provided to families of enrolled Nettle Creek Discovery Preschool students. There will be no bus transportation available for summer daycare.

All-day care will be offered from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm five days a week. (Closed May 27th for Memorial Day and July 4th for Independence Day)

The tuition for the daycare program is $100/week per student.
