Last Spring, school counselors, Ms. Oliger and Ms. Kaiser, joined with a Wayne County committee of educators to submit a grant application to Lilly Endowment Inc. to support Ms. Williamson and the Communities In Schools program at the Jr./Sr. high school. Our counselors’ work on the application brings $107,800 to Nettle Creek. As a result of their work, students at the high school will be better prepared for success in college, entry-level careers or the military after graduation.
Along with this support for CIS, the Jr./Sr. high will continue to be involved with the Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate program. This Indiana incentive initiative helps students develop employability skills that are critical for success in today’s workplace.
